Who We Are

Jennifer Nicholson

Owner

For as long as she can remember Jennifer has been caring for animals. From her first pet as a child to her current household of rescue pets, animals are an important part of her family unit. If the day hasn't gone too well, Mittens is there to snuggle and make things better. Need a distraction and stress release, Happy will play fetch and keep away with his favorite toys for hours. Do you need a companion to sit and purr happily on your lap, Biscuit fits perfectly, and on special days if you're lucky, Cali may choose to hang out with you and let you scratch her ears, what a special day indeed! Pets bring unconditional love and companionship to all of us. They are there when we need them, and they are always glad to see us. Jennifer believes every animal deserves the best care they can get and has strived to help positively impact the veterinary industry for her entire career.

Jennifer has been blessed with being a part of the veterinary industry for 30+ years. She has experience within various divisions of the veterinary medicine industry; first starting as a veterinary assistant at a small practice while in high school and college. After graduating college, she accepted a position in pharmaceutical research which opened the door to new opportunities for learning and growing. A few years later she accepted a position with a veterinary supply distributor. Jennifer felt right at home going back into clinics and engaging doctors and staff with new products and equipment. After 13 years in distribution, a new door opened and a move to veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing was made. Over the last 30 years, Jennifer has sought to support and give back to the industry she calls home. Jennifer created a veterinary technician association to bring free, after-hours, Continuing Education to technicians in her area when the only opportunities available were two hours away. She has guest lectured at multiple veterinary technician schools and currently serves on the advisory board of a fully accredited veterinary technician college. Jennifer has also served with area humane societies, animal rescues, and various community outreach programs to bring veterinary care to individuals and communities that need support. She has also volunteered her time and personal resources to aid rescue and support efforts for lost and abandoned animals during natural disasters. During her industry journey, she has had the pleasure of meeting, partnering with, and learning from many veterinarians and industry specialists in business management, client support and retention, marketing, social media use and management, and various medical devices' uses and training. Jennifer has also helped many practices over the years streamline staff education, define marketing messaging, and set up staff incentives to help maintain focus, reach business growth goals, and staff development. Creative problem-solving has always been a skill that Jennifer has enjoyed using to address issues and concerns or to bring new perspectives to projects. It is this outside-of-the-box thinking that served as the spark to develop a tool for the industry that she calls home and cares for very much. PetPaksDVM is the result of years of learning and observation within the veterinary practice, mixed with an understanding of new technologies to effectively educate pet owners utilizing the tools and formats that are familiar to the current and upcoming generations of pet owners. An easy-to-use, automated tool that brings consistency, accuracy, and reliability to the foundational education of pet owners on common conditions, diseases, or injuries allows veterinarians to go deeper with clients during exams, phone consults, or even telemedicine appointments. Jennifer hopes that PetPaksDVM will help veterinarians and technicians provide a new way to interact with clients while simplifying the day-to-day routines of veterinary practice. Jennifer strives to be a person who operates by a simple principle, if there's a need, fill it. PetPaksDVM will do just that!
